VIP announces new manufacturing operation in the UAE

Cambridgeshire based rubber sealing gasket manufacturer VIP-Polymers has embarked on a manufacturing joint venture in Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE in order to service a number of large diameter pipe gasket contracts secured in the Middle East.

The newly formed company VIP-Polymers LLC has signed a 10 year lease with options for expansion in Ras Al Khaimah and will shortly be taking delivery of manufacturing equipment including that of a large 1200t Compression Press capable of producing large diameter sealing gaskets up to DN2200.

The strategic location will enable VIP–Polymers LLC to meet the demands of three continents which will in turn mean shorter delivery times for some of our key customers.

VIP-Polymers’ Managing Director John Millar says ‘We are delighted to be part of this manufacturing joint venture and look forward to growing the business with our partners. The new manufacturing facility will help us to reduce our environmental impact through the number of transported goods from the UK to the Middle East.”

In addition to the obvious benefits to VIP’s ductile iron pipe customers in the surrounding region, the joint venture is also expected to enable VIP to continue to enhance their presence within the buoyant plastic and clay pipe sealing sectors.

VIP-Polymers LLC will expand their manufacturing capabilities with the new facility being equipped with mixers, extruders, compression and injection moulding machines, tooling and finishing equipment.
