VIP’s new gasket technology significantly reduces the risk of tunnel segment cracking

VIP’s unique manufacturing process enables tunnel gasket corners to be made to any angle – obtuse, acute or 90º and eliminates solid gasket corners: all VIP cast-in tunnel segment gaskets are now manufactured using the new process. The corners created allow gaskets to evenly compress across the entire gasket face and accommodate segment movement, thus reducing corner point loading. This greatly reduces the risk of tunnel segment cracking.
